I love it. Thanks Mandy!
Yay! Thanks Jessie 🙂
Hello! I love this CAL so much. I have a question: in round 6 (UK terms), are there slip stitches between the petals? I figured there was only one at the beginning and the end of the round, but in round 7 the pattern says sl st between dc pairs at base of petals, and I’m a bit confused about how to do that. Thank you for your help in advance.
Hi Betty! No there are no slip stitches between the petal (only after you’ve put round 7 on. There should be a gap between your dc (see picture from round 7) where you can sl st when making your chains around the petals. Hope this helps. Mandy xx
Thank you so much! I think I did it right then 🙂
I’m trying to make the Compass Granny Square from directions I found online. But translating from UK to US I finding hard to follow. For instance if dc (UK) means sc (US) then what is single crochet symbol in UK? I admit I couldn’t download the pattern without some words overlapping. Where can I get to pattern to download and then print?
Hi Julia – i’ve provided US instructions for most of my patterns. You will find them at the end of each blog post. With regard to printing – you should have a button in your browser that will convert to ‘reader’ which makes printing clearer. Hope this helps!

Just found this incredible post – these are wonderful squares! I’ve been asked to crochet an 8-inch square for a charity project at church… Any suggestions how I could increase these a bit to grow them 3 inches? I don’t think switching to worsted weight would quite do it. Anyway … thanks!
Hi Dorothy, Thanks for your message. You could try adding rounds of htr or tr to increase the size. All the best!
