Crochet mandalas are fun and most appealing decors with many artistic details to add, whether simple or complex. Today, I gonna share my favorite free crochet mandala pattern using 4 pastel yarn colors with beautiful wavy edging around the round mandala with a little airy design and floral pattern at the center.

You can give it as a gift, as a love symbol, or place it on the table as a placement to relax seeing it. So, learn how to crochet a mandala with this easy mandala crochet pattern and tutorial that I think is good for intermediate crocheters. But I have added the guides along with this pattern for the skills to make it worthwhile for beginners.

Crochet Mandala Free Pattern For Beginners

Crochet mandalas are popular because they help us to practice any stitch (dense, lacy, and complex, too!) by repeating it in the rounds and also allow us to experiment with different color combinations to make it appealing and own. That’s why I personally love them! Here is one biggest advantages of following my crochet mandala pattern:

Mind-Refreshing: I have found this crochet mandala always refreshing me with its peaceful look, and without any constant focus, I could crochet one while watching a TV show. It was the first pattern I designed back in 2015.

Now,  here is an updated and more beautiful version with a few small changes. Both times, I loved crocheting a new one, and I hope you will, too.

You will find this free crochet mandala pattern much easier and quick. So, keep reading, where I will teach you the required materials and tips and provide a complete crochet mandala pattern with pictures.

Tips Before Following Crochet Mandy Mandala Pattern

These crochet stitches will be very valuable for you working on my crochet mandala pattern and others too:

Use stitch markers: Even intermediate and advanced crocheters sometimes forget the row and stitch they were working on (even I myself!), so having stitch markers will help you much while working on the mandala pattern to keep track of stitches and understand which instruction you were following.

Take a Break: It is a fact that breaks improve your efficiency. Though in mandala crocheting, sometimes we are too busy with fun activities, it is better to take a break so you may lose the continuous focus of your eyes and prevent your hands from cramping.

Also, use a crochet hook if you are more comfortable with this crochet mandala.

Choose your favorite colors: Because someone may not call you a copycat, it is better to use your favorite colors for my recommended yarn, depending on the other home decor you have.

Abbreviations And Quick Guides For each UK (US in brackets)

I know the beginners will also fall on my post, so to make it easy for them, here are quick guides for the stitches I used here in the pattern, along with the abbreviations:

Sl st: slip stitch: To make a slip stitch, insert the hook shaft into the stitch (to join!), yarn over, and pull up both loops.

DC: double crochet (US sc): To make the double crochet, you will need to yarn and insert the hook into the stitch (a chain!), yarn over, and pull through the loops. You will have the three loops. Yarn over and pull through two loops, yarn over and pull through both remaining loops.

htr: half treble (US hdc): For this, yarn over and insert the hook into the stitch. Yarn over and pull through all the loops (three!).

tr: treble (US dc): Yarn over, again yarn over, insert the hook into the stitch, yarn over again, and pull through. You will have four loops on the hook. Pull through all these by repeating yarn over two by two. (Almost six!)

ch-sp: chain space: To make a chain space, you must make a few chains (double the space needed!) and decide how much space you want to add (‘3 or 5 chain space!). Then leave or skip some chain and insert a hook there with the desired stitch to add.

ch: chain: To make chain yarn over and pull through the loop.

rep: repeat: To repeat the previous or particular abbreviation or instructions or procedure.

st/s: stitch(es): Loop created by anu stitch.

Crochet Mandy Mandala Pattern – Let’s Start:

Now I will begin teaching you to make the pattern:

Materials You Will Need:

  • Paton’s Cotton Blend 8ply: Yarn A – Neo Mint, Yarn B – Pink, Yarn C – Wild Rose, Yarn D – White, Yarn E – Yellow Or any 8ply/dk yarn

I used the cotton blend because it provided many color options, was easy to work, and was durable. You can use any color, but same sthickess is better.

  • 4mm crochet hook

A smaller hook size is better for attaining the details.

  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle
