I found a few little goodies in Byron Bay and the surrounding towns. I was limited in what I could purchase as we didn’t have a lot of extra room in the car…actually, there was no extra room.
This little toy cash register we found at an antique store in Brunswick Heads. We also found the dotty tray in Brunswick heads, but at a homewares store. I’m aware they are both red and I wasn’t going to buy more red items, but I’d purchased them before I realised. 😜
This leather framed mirror we picked up at the Bangalow Markets pretty cheap!
Finally, these all came from Byron. Leather coasters, parlour games and lots of lovely books! Yay! 😃
I have found some great buys on ebay and at garage sales! I have saved an enormous amount of dollars by shopping carefully and i don’t think the quality of the furniture or accessories has been compromised in the process. Here are just a few of the bargains i have found. I will let the pictures do the talking.
We found this chaise on ebay. It was still in the plastic! The owners were moving interstate and didn’t want to take it. Hooray!
We scored two carvers and ten regular chairs from the same ebay seller that was selling the chaise. We managed to get the chaise and twelve chairs in total for an absolute steal! And they are all gorgeous!
I bought this table and two bench seats at a garage sale….the same place where i found the cool bottles. The owners were lovely and generous people. I LOVE this setting.
Finding a weekend where we can steal all of our little family away isn’t easy, so sometimes we have to force it. I am so glad we did. It snowed a little in Millthorpe this weekend…..just a little, but that was enough to make the kids happy.
We accomplished a lot in two short days. The biggest thing being BEDS!! Very exciting and much better than sleeping on the floor. I haven’t attached pictures as they are mostly undressed and not looking especially pretty at the moment. We also hung a lot of pictures, pulled out old rose bushes, levelled hedges, assembled stools (x6), bought some essential boring items (brooms, mops, etc) and managed a little sleep in each morning.
I have so many pictures to share of our progress and junkyard finds, but i’ll focus on the kitchen and living area. I fall more in love with Winterfell at each visit. It feels like home. I hope our guests feel that way too.
