{Crochet} Flower Power Coaster Pattern

crochet coaster patterns

This 7 Round crochet coaster pattern is quick and fun to make. Crochet coasters make great gifts and are the perfect project for using up leftover bits of yarn. I’m calling this coaster pattern Flower Power as it reminds of the floral prints that were popular in the 70s. These coasters look great in bright happy colours and make a pretty addition to any boring table. These coasters have been made from Patons Cotton Blend 8ply yarn.

{Crochet} Sunnyside Up Mandala Pattern

crochet mandala tutorial

Oh my gosh! I had such a positive response to my very first crochet mandala, Mandy’s Mandala, that i was inspired to create another. So, here is another free crochet mandala pattern that i’ve designed. This one is called the Sunnyside Up Mandala, for obvious reasons. I love the bright happy yellow yoke and egg white surround, but i’m sure it was look pretty in other colour combinations too. :)

I’ve used my favourite yarn, Patons Cotton Blend 8ply for this project. The instructions are all written in UK terms, but there are US shorthand instructions at the end of this post.  The stitches you need for this one include –

  • ch = chain
  • dc = double crochet
  • htr = half treble
  • tr = treble
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • tr3tog – treble three together (explained below)
  • tr4tog – treble four together (explained below)

Treble Three Together (tr3tog)

Yarn over hook, insert into st, yarn over hook and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over pull through two loops (2 loops on hook). Yarn over hook, insert into st, yarn over and pull up loop (4 loops on hook) yarn over and pull through two loops (3 loops on hook). Yarn over hook, insert into st, yarn over and pull up loop (5 loops on hook) yarn over pull through 2 loops (4 loops on hook) yarn over and pull through all 4 loops.

Treble Four Together (tr4tog)

Yarn over hook, insert into st, yarn over hook and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), yarn over pull through two loops (2 loops on hook). Yarn over hook, insert into st, yarn over and pull up loop (4 loops on hook) yarn over and pull through two loops (3 loops on hook). Yarn over hook, insert into st, yarn over and pull up loop (5 loops on hook) yarn over pull through 2 loops (4 loops on hook). Yarn over hook, insert into st, yarn over and pull up loop (6 loops on hook) yarn over pull through 2 loops (5 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all 5 loops.

Okay! Here we go –
