. It’s a wrap – My Final Grid
I joined in the fun of #7vignettes this month. It’s an Instagram game hosted by The Interiors Addict that involves making and photographing creative vignettes. This month RetroJan were the guest judges and boy did they have a tough job. With loads of stunning and creative entries to choose from, I didn’t envy their job. There was $500 for the major winner and daily prizes of $75 to spend at RetroJan, which was a wonderful incentive to produce pretty pictures. I was thrilled to be chosen as Day 7 winner with my interpretation of Texture. Pop over to Instagram to check out all the fuss.

I haven’t played #7 Vignettes on Instagram for a while, but i thought i’d jump on board this month and i am so glad i did! Hosted by Jen Bishop from the Interiors Addict, 7 vignettes is a fun game on Instagram, involving the creation of pretty pictures from a designated theme – one each day for seven days. Life Interiors was judging this month and i was chuffed to be chosen as the winner of Day 6 with my interpretation of the theme – Weave. I scored a $100 voucher from Life Interiors. Here are my images for the week –

7 Vignettes with the Interiors Addict on Instagram for December was probably my favourite month yet. The themes were creative and there was a definite focus on being festive! Here’s my round up of images –
5. Red and Green
6. Jolt of Colour
Merry Christmas all! I’ll be taking a break from blogging, but am hoping to be back into it in February 2014. Happy New Year!
I am desperate to go treasure hunting again soon. It feels like months since I’ve injected some new pieces into the guesthouse. Life simply gets too busy at times and the kids always seem to have things cropping up. Fingers crossed i’ll have some new treasures to share soon. Until then, I’ve been playing the Interiors Addict’s 7 Vignettes on Instagram and experimenting with stencils. My tea light heart was picked by Jen from the Interiors Addict for a daily collage, which was pretty cool. This month the themes were :
1. Holder – cane heart shaped holder
2. Set – cutlery
3. Gold – frame, ribbon and jewellery
4. Edible – icing flowers and pearls
5. Candlelit – hearts on fire
6. Vintage – baking tray and brooches
7. His – drum, cigars, whiskey, antlers
I’ve also been experimenting with stencils and fabric paint this week, so I can create unique cushions. I used ready made stencils by Ed Roth from his book Stencil101. He is a stencilling legend. This was my first attempt and i am quite happy with the result. Not perfect, but not bad for a first try. I’m going to run them through the washing machine a couple of times to see how they standup to everyday treatment. Have a great weekend!
