The 100 Day Project
The 100 day project is a free art project that takes place online. Starting April 2nd, thousands of people explore their creativity for 100 days. I joined the project because i needed a challenge that would push me outside my comfort zone, which is exactly what is happening.
#The100DayProject facilitator is @lindsayjeanthomson who began the project 6 years ago. Check out the hashtag #The100DayProject to find and follow those who are participating. It’s not too late to join in. People from all creative backgrounds join the challenge, therefore making it interesting and varied.
My Theme
I’ve chosen the theme #my100daysofcrochetcolour or #my100daysofcrochetcolor. My 100 day challenge is t0 create 100 different colour schemes. They will form a colour scheme resource for future projects, which will handy guide to colour.
I’m finding the challenge very therapeutic for me, because it provides a wonderful, creative distraction from grief. Meeting the daily challenges has forced me to be creative and productive, therefore pushing me to not to give up.
Creating 100 colour combos means moving right out of my comfort zone. At day 38 i have exhausted all my familiar and comfortable colour combinations, therefore leaving me with no option but to extend my range. I love being challenged!

What glorious patterns and colours here. It sounds like a wonderful creative challenge to do!
Thank you so much Sandra! I’m glad you’re enjoying them. xx
I wasn’t a fan of granny squares. But I have to admit that I love these, you are so clever. I have your book and I’m planning on making a blanket inspired by you.
Thank you for sharing your work. I look forward to your next book

Awww thanks so much Pip. I really appreciate the feedback. Happy Making! Mandy xx
I love all your designs for the 100 day pattern project. Where can I find the patterns for these as I would love to try them.
Hi Debbie! At the conclusion of the 100 days i’ll be including all the patterns, with a exception of a couple which aren’t mine, in a Crochet Colour Sourcebook. It will have around 50 designs and 100 different colour combos to try. Thanks for your message. I can’t wait to put the book together. Mandy xx
This is a really lovely idea and I really want to get involved in the next one now. I think it’s really important to keep creating and growing. Having a family of artists myself I find I end up mixing media’s and take huge breaks from crochet and do other things instead and that keeps me motivated. Are you creating a book of projects at the end? That would be cool as a coffee table book or something for inspiration.
Hi Ash! This was a fantastic challenge to do as it kept me making and designing (even when i didn’t like the outcome). I’m definitely planning a book with most of the 100 Days project patterns. I hope to include colour guides too for those who are lacking colour confidence. Mandy xx
you are doing well with the #my100daysofcrochetcolour , good luck with the Book
