  14. Round 14: sc in each stitch around (80 stitches)
  15. Round 15: sc in each stitch INTO BACK LOOP ONLY (80 stitches)

Note: The base forms a small jog (gap) at round 15 where you work into the back stitch. This is normal for work in a spiral.

Make the Sides

  1. Continue crocheting in the round.
  2. Round 16-51: SC in each stitch for 36 rows (or until the side is 25cm/10″ tall).
  3. Finish: Slip the last stitch and weave in the end.

Assembling the Bag

  1. Lay the crochet section flat.
  2. Clip on the bag straps an equal distance apart, about 3 rows from the top edge.
  3. Weave leather cord in and out of stitches, about 4 rows down for the first cord and 5 rows down for the second cord, with about 2-inch spacing between cords.
  4. Make sure the cord ends are facing outward and positioned on opposite sides.
  5. Tie off the leather cord ends.

Optional: If you want a more rigid base, cut a circle from a plastic sheet to fit the base and place it inside the bag. If you prefer a soft base, skip this step.

You can customize the height of the bag by adding or reducing the number of rows in the sides section.
