Making the Eyes:
With your F hook, start with a magic ring. Chain 2, 9 hdc in the ring. Pull tight and join with a slip stitch with your white at the top of the chain 2. Chain 2, 1 hdc in the same space, 2 hdc in each space around. Make another eye.
Making the Beak: Use your F hook. Do another magic ring, chain 2, 1 hdc, chain 2, 2 hdc, chain 2, 2 hdc into the ring. This should give you a little triangle.
Assembling the Owl Face: Attach the eyes and beak to one side of the purse before attaching the two sides together. Use a darning needle and some yarn to sew the pieces on.
Joining the Two Sides: Now, join your two “owl sides” wrong sides together. Try to align them up so they match. Insert the hook through both sides and a single chain (sc) around the outside to attach them.
Making the Strap: Chain 40. Insert your hook into the opposite top corner of the owl without twisting the strap. YO and pull through. Turn your work so you can single chain (sc) back up and over the strap. Join at the starting corner with a slip stitch next to the 1st of your original 40 chains.
Finishing Touches (Optional): You can add some cute little yarn details like pigtails to the sides of the purse.
You can now enjoy your handmade Owl Purse or gift it to a little one.
