Making Your Heart Flower Pot

Materials Needed

  • 2.5mm crochet hook
  • Polyester fiberfill
  • Card (from a tissue box, cereal box, etc.)
  • 18 gauge floral wire
  • Pliers
  • Fabric glue
  • Stitch marker, yarn needle, and scissors

Finished Size

Important Notes

Step by step Pattern

Pot (pot color)

  1. R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
  2. R2: [Inc] x6 (12)
  3. R3: [Sc, inc] x6 (18)
  4. R4: Sc, inc, [2 sc, inc] x5, sc (24)
  5. R5: [3 sc, inc] x6 (30)
  6. R6: BLO [sc] x30 (30)
  7. R7-R12: [Sc] x30 (30) for 6 rounds
  8. R13: [Sl st, ch 1] x30; sl st into the same st as starting sl st. Fasten off and weave in ends.
  9. Cut a circle out of the card to fit the base of the pot and place it inside.

Leaves (make 2, green)

  1. Ch 7, sl st in 2nd ch from the hook and next ch, sc in next 2 chs, hdc in last 2 chs (6). Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Heart (heart color)

  1. R1: 6 sc in magic ring (6)
  2. R2: [Inc] x6 (12)
  3. R3: [Sc] x12 (12). Fasten off leaving an end of approx. 10cm for sewing.
  4. Repeat R1-R3 for the second piece of the heart top, but do not fasten off the second piece.
  5. Joining Round: 6 sc on the second piece, 12 sc on the first piece (starting in the first st of the last round), 6 sc on the second piece (24). Use the yarn tail from the first piece to sew the gap. Then continue:
  6. R4: [Sc] x24 (24)
  7. R5: Sc, invdec, [2 sc, invdec] x5, sc (18)
  8. Continue stuffing as you work.
  9. R6-7: Continue as per pattern instructions until closure.

Soil (dark brown)

  1. Follow the instructed rounds from R1 to create the base of the soil.
  2. Prepare the stem with floral wire, wrap it with green yarn, and use fabric glue to attach it to the heart.

Stem Preparation

  • Use pliers to twist one end of the wire into a circular shape.
  • Trim the wire as needed and use pliers to fold the end.
  • Secure the stem with green yarn and position the heart on top.

Final Assembly
